The new facility, located at 5777 Olivas Park Dr., Unit D, Ventura, provides in-plant cleaning for all types of area rugs, ranging from low-cost machine made to hand-knotted Persian and other Oriental rugs. Co-owner Dan Traub said, "When cleaning rugs in-plant, more control may be exercised in the cleaning process, along with the use of specialized equipment, such as the rug-dusting equipment, rug washing bath, drying room, and drying equipment.”

Despite the current recession, the owners decided to make an additional investment close to $100,000 to open this new facility, the first in Ventura County to offer this type of cleaning method. "We expect the creation of about 10 new jobs in the next two years," added Sylvie Traub, president of the company.

Last year, the Traubs travelled to Peachtree City, Georgia, to complete an intensive certification seminar taught by internationally recognized industry experts Jeff Bishop and Ruth Travis. "We had a great opportunity to learn from two of the world's experts in Oriental rug cleaning. They showed us first-hand how to identify and clean rugs from around the world. We were proud to attend their class," said Dan Traub. “Since we were planning to offer full-immersion cool water rug cleaning, we wanted to learn from Jeff Bishop so that we could better serve Ventura County’s consumers,” he added.

During the seminar, special emphasis was placed on cleaning rugs which customers often assume have been ruined such as ones contaminated by pet stains. Emphasis was placed on new procedures for cleaning and preserving high-value oriental and specialty rugs.
